Your respect
preferences

Explore the forms of respect you currently prioritize when giving respect to others and receiving it yourself.

Based on the supplied 7 Forms of Respect worksheet by Dr. Julie Pham / CuriosityBased. This classroom adaptation is not the official online 7 FoRs Assessment.

Before you begin

Giving means how you want to show respect to others. Getting means how you want others to show respect to you. Your preferences may differ between the two.

  1. Read all 21 statements in the Give section, then select the 6–8 that best describe you.
  2. Do the same in the Get section.
  3. View your highest-scoring forms for each section separately.

For your first round, think about interactions with your peers at work. Later, you can try again while thinking about someone with more or less power, or one particular relationship.

You do not need to agree with every example within a form to have a preference for it. This is a snapshot of your current preferences, not a measure of how respectful you are.

The worksheet notes that the official online assessment accounts for hierarchy. Learn more at formsofrespect.com.
